VIA 57 West is Bjarke Ingels’s 35-storey pyramid-like apartment building. Standing 142 m tall ( 467 ft), this residential tower is a cool building – it is a combination of a European-style, low-rise apartment block encircling a courtyard, and a Manhattan tower on a podium. This is an utterly unexpected design, an innovative designed building. Definitely an eye-catching building. The development offers a total of 709 rental residences. VIA 57 WEST offers a range of studio, one, two, three and four bedroom residences, many with terraces and balconies. The centerpiece of VIΛ 57 WEST’s unique design is VIA Garden, a lushly planted courtyard that opens toward the Hudson River, bringing views and low western sun deep into the block.

I really enjoy great photography. This is one of the best pictures I have come across from the world of real estate. Simply a masterpiece. The lighting has to be perfect. The place has to be absolutely perfect. The time of day, the visibility, so many factors are involved when you want it to be perfect. Of course we see VIA 57 WEST, the residential pyramid designed by Bjarke Ingels (BIG), then we see the Time Warner Center, a mixed use twin-tower building that was completed in 2003, then we see One57 by Extell Development Company, a mixed-use development completed in 2014, and of course we see 432 Park Avenue designed by Rafael Viñoly, this residential building was completed in 2015. New York’s skyline is changing on a colossal scale.
In a recent shoot of VIA New York by @bjarkeingels and @bjarkeingelsgroup , I showcase the contrast between the urban grit and the shining sculptural beacon on west 57th street…#bjarkeingels #aiany #newyorkarchitecture #newyorkarchitecture #divisare #markmagazine #architecture #danisharchitecturecentre #danisharchitects #streetphotography ##kaiuwebergmann #vianewyork #architecturephotography
