Thainess, story 1:
More than 10 years ago, I was up-country, at a local festival in some far away village, there was free food. People were standing in line to get free food, I decided to also stand in line to receive some food.
They, the local Thais, pulled me out of the line, there were at least 15 people standing in front of me, they let me jump the line.
Yes, the visitor was given special treatment. They allowed me to jump the line.
Thainess, story 2:
November 2014, I was riding my bike with my daughter, we were on the motorway and the engine broke down. Shit man, I was a sitting duck, I was vulnerable and I was aware of it. Some thai guy could rob me blind out there.
Cars kept stopping, not to steal my money and phone, but offered to help. Stubborn as I was I told them I could handle it but after 20 minutes I let them help me. The sun was burning my daughter. One of the drivers had a rope which was attached to another motorcycle driven by a thai lady.
I was pulled out of trouble by a thai lady driving a motorcycle. She spent 30 minutes of her time helping me for free.
