Facebook, Brand Building and Customer Care

I am convinced that any high profile project MUST have an active facebook and MUST have the right person in charge. Simply letting one of the staff take care of the facebook is NOT the right way. It MUST be done by someone who has unconditional love for the project AND it must be done by someone that knows what he is doing so he MUST attend all the meetings and be fully informed.

I know, finding such a person is very difficult. I can’t do it because I am busy with a thousand other things. It must be done by someone who is able to create the right atmosphere and make people excited about the project.

If the right person is in charge from the beginning he will be able create a place where buyers from all over the world will be wanting to visit every evening when coming home from work. The buyers will tell their friends that there is a fun facebook on the net and the word will spread.

It is good for the developer when launching new projects, it is good for the customers that will get DAILY information about the project. Believe me, the customers will love to visit a well maintained and fun facebook, they will love to see the construction updates. They have put a lot of money into the project so they will want to know exactly what is happening. They will want the truth about the project, they will want someone in charge that they can trust 100%.

It is all about trust and about doing the right thing. I KNOW I am right about this, I know that building up a facebook like I am talking about here takes a lot of time. It is actually a full-time job but I believe it is a win-win situation for everybody. At the moment ONLY A FEW are doing it wholeheartedly. Many developers do have facebooks for their projects but they let the staff handle it or the wrong persons.

Let a professional guy handle it and understand it is a full-time job. Love, care and attention to detail can create value out of nothing.

More importantly, this is also about brand building. The right person can help in the brand building process and give the developer the right reputation. Building up a brand is difficult and it takes time. A well maintained facebook is an important part of that process.

That said, it has been proven that you can actually have a successful project without having any construction updates at all, with little or no customer care. It has been done that way many times in the past, and in the end it has turned out well for the developer. You might think, ‘why fix it if it ain’t broke’. To that I say: Evolution has proven that in the long run, the smarter guy will be amongst the winners. Why not at least try to do everything perfect the first time around?

Facebook, Brand Building and Customer Care. This is what it is all about. Hear the truth from children or in this case a babysitter.

It makes perfect sense to me but I fear I am talking to deaf ears.
